Job description

Business Analyst – Workday HCM

Mountain View, CA — Hybrid (3 Days Onsite/Week)

12+ Month W2 Contract — $50–$55/hr on W2

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst with strong experience in Workday HCM, SAP HR/Payroll, and ADP to support a major tech/telecom client in Mountain View, CA. This is a techno-functional role; Not purely functional and not purely technical. The ideal candidate works closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and cross-functional teams to optimize HR systems, streamline integrations, and support continuous improvement in employee lifecycle management. The candidate will be employed on W2 payroll for the duration of the engagement. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite per week in Mountain View.

What We're Looking For
  • Techno-functional Workday BA profile — candidates who only do Workday integration development or only do functional configuration without integration exposure will not be considered.
  • Workday HCM modules: Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Time Tracking, Compensation, and Talent Management.
  • Hire-to-Retire lifecycle: Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes.
  • Integration exposure (BA-side/conceptual): EIB, Core Connectors, and integrations with systems like ADP (Payroll), benefits platforms, and Okta (SSO/authentication). You don't need to build integrations — you need to support integration user stories and collaborate with technical teams during builds.
  • Workday security basics: Security groups, roles, access control, and how Workday integrates with SSO platforms.
  • UAT & regression testing: Hands-on end-to-end ownership of test planning, execution, defect tracking, and sign-off — not just participation.
  • HR stakeholder collaboration: Ability to work closely with HR, business teams, and integration/technical teams.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • 8+ years of business/system analysis experience in HR technology environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday HCM (Core HR, Time Tracking, Benefits, Payroll) — configuration and post-production support.
  • Experience with SAP HR or SAP Payroll (direct configuration or implementation — not reporting/analytics only, not SuccessFactors only).
  • Familiarity with ADP Payroll systems — direct integration design or payroll processing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HR business processes: onboarding, employee data management, compensation, benefits.
  • Experience supporting system integrations and data flows between HR platforms.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — client-facing quality is a hard requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with integration middleware (MuleSoft, Boomi) or Workday Studio.
  • Experience in fast-paced tech or telecom environments.
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, SQL, and reporting tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
  • Workday certifications are a strong plus.
  • Experience with calculated fields and advanced Workday configuration.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements related to Workday HCM, SAP HR, and ADP Payroll systems.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, workflows, and integration requirements.
  • Support Workday integrations with SAP and third-party systems using EIB, Core Connectors, or custom APIs.
  • Manage and support testing activities including UAT, regression testing, and data validation.
  • Ensure data accuracy, audit readiness, and compliance across HRIS platforms.
  • Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution across systems.
  • Maintain documentation for processes, configurations, and change management.
  • Collaborate in Agile/Scrum environments with engineers, analysts, and product teams.

Engagement Details
  • Type: W2 Contract (no C2C, no 1099, no third-party)
  • Rate: $55–$60/hr all-in W2 (based on experience)
  • Duration: 12+ months
  • Location: Mountain View, CA — Hybrid (3 days onsite/week)
  • Relocation: Allowed with confirmed commitment
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (USC, GC, H1B, H4 EAD, L1/L2, OPT EAD accepted)
