Position Description

Works as a member of the HR support team in partnership with the Workday and HRIS support team, providing service, support, solutions and innovation to the business areas relying on Workday and HRIS systems under the responsibility of the team. Leads the analysis of HR business requirements and translates them into scalable enterprise HRIS solutions, primarily within Workday. Performs process improvement activities and prepares and maintains supporting documentation for HR Operations areas. Serves as a functional expert for Workday and HRIS platforms, aligning system design with business processes and organizational strategy. Maintains a broad understanding of clients' business processes and practices. Monitors system, data, and process errors, and takes appropriate corrective action. Ensures Workday and HRIS application controls are in compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.

Position-Related Responsibilities specific to Level I

  • Initiates and maintains relationships with clients to ensure processes and solutions are integrated to support business requirements.
  • Gathers requirements from clients for reports and enhancements and translates business requirements into scalable Workday and HRIS solution designs, including configuration, business process frameworks, and suggested integrations.
  • Participates in "As-Is" and "To-Be" business process requirements / optimization sessions with client organizations. Leverages business process analysis to inform Workday configuration and enterprise solution design.
  • Works with clients to develop and maintain current business process maps and documentation.
  • Communicates effectively with HR peers, business areas, IT peers and vendors, to solve business / technical problems and provide appropriate technical system solutions.
  • Recommends improvement of existing or proposed systems, Workday and HRIS solutions, to enhance the functionality or effectiveness of solutions delivered.
  • Facilitates the interaction between clients, technology providers and support partners (internal and external) to implement and maintain reliable solutions.
  • Reviews and approves design documents from technology providers Workday, HRIS, and implementation/support partners.
  • Designs and configures Workday business processes, security models, and application settings to support complex HR operations. Keeps associated documentation up to date.
  • Controls and monitors system security configuration settings, granting user access to (or removing user access from) applications Workday and HRIS systems according to appropriate authorization.
  • Develops unit test plans. Tests application patches and changes to configuration tables, programs, and processes Workday releases, system updates, and changes to configuration and business processes.
  • Performs regression testing and verification for product upgrades Workday releases and HRIS system enhancements.
  • Coordinates client's testing and acceptance of application changes Workday and HRIS changes.
  • Provides internal consulting to clients on how to make best use of functionality readily available in the current applications Workday and HRIS platforms.
  • Develops and/or assists in developing business process aligned application Workday and HRIS system training material. Delivers training to clients one-on-one or in a classroom environment as required.
  • Monitors system, data, application Workday and HRIS system, process, and user errors and performance issues, and takes corrective action as appropriate.
  • Provides level 2 business support to HR Operations needing assistance with applications Workday and HRIS systems and/or diagnosing data issues.
  • Works closely with technical resources, clients, vendors and HRIS support resources (internal & external) as needed to troubleshoot problems and determine solutions.
  • Coordinates incident reporting and tracking with software vendors Workday, HRIS, and other system vendors.
  • Documents problem analysis findings and corrective measures for ongoing support and audit purposes.
  • Works with HR Compliance to validate application controls and compliance.
  • Directs work of external resources as assigned.
  • Continually increases personal understanding of utility business functions and processes HR business functions, Workday processes, and HRIS operations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Position-Related Responsibilities specific to Level II

  • Gathers requirements from HR business areas and HR Clients for moderate to complex enhancements, and translates those requirements into functional designs used by technical resources to develop solutions.
  • Analyzes, documents and maps "As-Is" business processes. Prepares "To-Be" process maps, fit/gap analysis, change impact analysis and/or other business process change related documentation.
  • Facilitates and supports continuous process improvement proactively with clients, considering leveraging existing systems' functionality and capabilities, industry best practices, enterprise solutions, and other opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops system, integration and regression test plans. Leads system, integration, and regression testing activities.
  • Proactively evaluates application functions and features Workday and HRIS functions and features against business processes, to support current and evolving business practices.
  • Develops and runs ad hoc query reports as needed to troubleshoot problems, fulfill audit requests, and support other client requests.
  • Manages components of large projects under the leadership of HR Operations. Leads small projects, preparing all required documentation for delivery of project objectives, as assigned.
  • Mentors other support personnel to enhance their capabilities.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Position-Related Responsibilities specific to Level Sr

  • Represents the business as a Subject Matter Expert for the integration of business processes and technology solutions, such as Workday and other HRIS solutions.
  • Leads requirements gathering efforts for a variety of optimization/enhancement package evaluation and complex development projects to support Workday and HRIS solutions. Leads translation of business strategy into scalable HR technology solutions.
  • Leads "As-Is" and "To-Be" business process requirements / optimization sessions with client organizations. Performs business process fit analysis, gap analysis and change impact analysis. Provides analysis to client leadership for review, approval and prioritization.
  • Plans multiple project assignments and coordinates priorities with team leads and clients. Works as business lead on large projects, under the leadership of the Project Management Office. Leads projects with moderate complexity or sensitive issues, preparing all required documentation for delivery of project objectives, as assigned.
  • Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
  • Develops and/or assists in developing business process aligned training material for supported systems such as Workday and HRIS system. Delivers training to clients one-on-one or in a classroom environment as required.
  • Monitors Workday and HRIS system, data, process, and user errors and performance issues, and takes appropriate action to address and/or escalate.
  • Provides level 2 business support to internal HR teams, Workday Support teams and HR clients needing assistance with Workday and HRIS systems and/or diagnosing data issues.
  • Works closely with technical resources for systems such as Workday and HRIS support resources as needed to troubleshoot problems and determine solutions.
  • Coordinates incident reporting and tracking with vendors supporting Workday and other HRIS systems supported within HR.
  • Documents problem analysis findings and corrective measures for ongoing support and audit purposes.
  • Works with HR Compliance to validate application controls and compliance.
  • Directs work of external resources as assigned.
