We are creating a connected, integrated technology ecosystem that simplifies how work gets done and delivers seamless, intuitive self-service experiences for our Toasters (employees) and leaders.

About this Roll* (The Role)

As a Workday Integrations Engineer on the People Technology team, you will play a critical role in making our global technology vision a reality. You will design, build, maintain, and support the connections that allow data to move securely across our People systems-connecting Workday with payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, identity management, and other enterprise platforms.

This role balances strategic integration engineering with operational ownership. You'll serve as a key technical resource to build scalable new capabilities while strengthening the stability of our existing ecosystem through better monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement.

A day in the life (Responsibilities):

  • Design & Build: Develop, test, and deploy scalable Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, and Web Services.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with People, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Finance, IT, and Security to translate business needs into robust technical designs and data mappings.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead integrations through their full lifecycle-from initial discovery and architecture through testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage the integration service queue, driving root-cause analysis on production failures to continuously reduce technical debt and manual fixes.
  • Health & Governance: Enhance alerting, logging, error handling, and release testing (including Workday biannual updates) to proactively catch issues before they impact business operations.
  • Technical Leadership: Create clear documentation (runbooks, integration specs, data flow diagrams) and mentor peers on integration standards and best practices.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements):

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, building, and supporting Workday integrations in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Core Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, PECI, Workday Web Services, RaaS, calculated fields, and custom reporting.
  • Data Protocols & Formats: Working knowledge of REST, SOAP, XML, XSLT, JSON, WSDL, XPath, SFTP, and HTTPS.
  • Security & Auth Standards: Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, SAML, SSL/TLS, and PGP encryption.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a track record of troubleshooting production integrations via ticketing systems like Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Domain Context: Solid understanding of core HR functional areas (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Time & Attendance).

What will help you stand out (Nonessential Skills/Nice to Haves):

  • Workday Pro Certification in Integrations.
  • Experience with Workday Extend or Workday Prism Analytics.
  • Hands-on exposure to IPaaS / middleware platforms like Boomi or MuleSoft.
  • Familiarity with adjacent tech stacks: Greenhouse, ServiceNow, CloudPay, ADP, Okta, or NetSuite.
  • Background supporting People Technology in a fast-paced, high-growth, or global matrix environment.
