Job description

Job Description:
Saybrook University seeks a current student for a Federal Work Study Literacy or Math Tutor position. This student may already have an organization in mind to provide tutoring services for, or we can help partner the student with a local organization.
The FWS Literacy or Math Tutor is responsible for helping children with classroom assignments in the subjects of reading or mathematics.
Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Serve as a reading tutor for preschool-age through elementary-school-age children
  • Work as a mathematics tutor for children in elementary school through ninth grade
  • Perform family literacy activities in a family literacy project that provides services to families with preschool-age children or children in elementary school

Position Requirements:
  • Be a current student in good standing at Saybrook University
  • Be eligible for a Federal Work Study position
  • Be available to work up to 20 hours per week

Federal Work Study positions are paid at $20.00 per hour.
