Job description

The Media Research Specialist assists in maximizing KTXL Sacramento station revenue & ratings opportunities. This position is part-time and part of a fast-paced team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily research communication and will take complete ownership of their tasks and projects and see them through until delivered.
Job Description
  • Overseeing, analyzing and maintaining all research information and functions from Nielsen, Comscore, Wide Orbit Media Sales and other tools that support and enhance the sales and marketing effectiveness of our brands in the marketplace
  • Provide valuable research data to Sales, News and Promotions departments. For example, compiling and distributing relevant ratings facts, trends and analysis, ratings successes and challenges.
  • Prepare performance reports for managers within deadlines
  • Creates customized sales and research presentations
  • Gather campaign data for proof of performance presentations for Sales & Marketing clients
  • Communicate with department leaders on research findings
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:
  • Ability to tell stories through the data is a key component of this position
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of media research experience, knowledgeable about media related software, and other comparable software, with the ability to learn new software programs quickly on a self-directed training schedule
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, English or Statistics preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills
  • Clear and concise communications both through writing & presentation skills
  • Organizational skills a must
  • Knowledge of both digital & linear media campaigns
  • Comfortable presenting alongside a team of Account Executives and Management at key client meetings
  • Highly proficient in all Microsoft Office products

This is a part-time position. Compensation is $30+/hr or commensurate with experience and skill level.
