Classification Minimum Requirements:
  • Must maintain a 2.5-grade point average.
  • Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Must receive or be eligible to receive Federal Work Study

Job Description:
  • Assist the Marketing and Communications Specialist with updating and maintaining the department website.
  • Create and edit photos, graphics, and other visual materials using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva.
  • Assist with developing and publishing content for departmental social media platforms, including Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
  • Support departmental communications efforts, including drafting announcements, and promotional content.
  • Assist with planning and supporting departmental events, seminars, meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Perform data entry, filing, document preparation, and other general office tasks.

Expected Salary:
$15.00 hour
Required Qualifications:
  • Must maintain a 2.5-grade point average.
  • Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
  • Must receive or be eligible to receive Federal Work Study

Preferred:
  • Demonstrated interest in communications, marketing, public relations and scientific research.
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, website maintenance using a content management system (CMS).
  • Basic graphic design and photo-editing experience.
  • Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Previous office, administrative, customer service, or communications experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a positive customer-service-oriented attitude.

This position is ideal for students interested in gaining experience in communications, marketing, event coordination, and office administration within a higher education and research environment.
