Job description

QVine, an SAIC company is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to serve as a senior technical contributor on our team. This role bridges the gap between engineering excellence and customer engagement. You will work closely with sales leadership and customers to understand mission requirements, demonstrate technical capabilities, produce Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents, and architect solutions that align with customer needs. This is not a purely behind-the-desk engineering role-you will be customer-facing, articulate, and capable of translating complex technical solutions into clear, compelling narratives.

This position is located in Reston, VA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Customer Engagement: Partner with the sales team and leadership in customer-facing meetings, discovery sessions, and technical demonstrations.
  • CONOPS Development: Gather requirements from stakeholders and produce comprehensive Concept of Operations documents that clearly articulate proposed solutions, operational workflows, and system architectures.
  • Solution Design: Architect end-to-end technical solutions tailored to customer environments, constraints, and objectives.
  • Technical Demonstrations: Build and deliver live demos and proof-of-concept environments that showcase platform capabilities and value propositions.
  • Pre-Sales Support: Serve as the primary technical resource during the sales cycle-answering technical questions, addressing concerns, and building customer confidence.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, product, and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with organizational capabilities.
  • Documentation & Artifacts: Produce high-quality technical documentation including architecture diagrams, integration plans, CONOPS and white papers as needed.
SAIC is a premier mission integrator focused on advancing the power of technology and innovation to serve and protect our world. Our robust portfolio of offerings across the defense, space, intelligence, and civilian markets includes secure high-end solutions in mission IT, enterprise IT, engineering services, and professional services. We integrate emerging technology, rapidly and securely, into mission critical operations that modernize and enable critical national imperatives.

We are approximately 23,000 strong; driven by mission, united by purpose, and inspired by opportunities. SAIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, SAIC has annual revenues of approximately $7.3 billion. For more information, visit saic.com. For ongoing news, please visit our newsroom.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or Senior Technical Consultant role.
  • Demonstrated experience producing CONOPS, technical proposals, or similar operational planning documents.
  • Strong experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, specifically:
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS).
    • Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences, including C-suite and mission stakeholders.
  • Experience in customer-facing or pre-sales technical roles with a track record of supporting successful engagements.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, compute, and storage concepts in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple engagements simultaneously, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strong Understand of AI concepts.
