• Conduct thorough crisis assessments and provide immediate therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Engage with clients in distress, actively listening and offering guidance to help them cope with their situations.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure client safety during crisis incidents.
• Formulate and implement personalized crisis intervention plans that align with best practices in mental health counseling.
• Conduct follow-up sessions with clients to monitor their progress and adjust intervention strategies as necessary.
• Utilize evidence-based crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies to support individuals in high-stress situations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and remain abreast of the latest trends in crisis counseling.

As an LMHC with our organization, you will primarily work with individuals facing substance misuse challenges, emotional crises, and trauma-related issues. Our clientele includes diverse populations requiring acute mental health support. You will play a critical role in bridging the gap for individuals experiencing crises, fostering hope and recovery through empathetic counseling and evidence-based interventions.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• Minimum of three years of recent experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally competent care to clients from various backgrounds.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals in distress and build therapeutic rapport.
• Proficiency in assessment and a strong understanding of ethical practices within crisis counseling.

• Additional training or specialized certifications in trauma-informed care and crisis counseling.
• Experience using telehealth platforms for counseling sessions.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral networks pertinent to mental health services.
