Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough crisis assessments and interventions for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Provide immediate counseling for individuals in distress, utilizing effective communication techniques to establish rapport and trust.
• Implement safety plans in collaboration with law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure client protection during crises.
• Facilitate ongoing follow-up care and recommendations, guiding clients through recovery and connecting them with additional resources.
• Utilize crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations and support client stabilization.
• Participate in regular training sessions to keep abreast of best practices in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with individuals facing addiction issues and other significant mental health challenges such as trauma, emotional crises, and suicidal ideations. Our diverse client population requires counselors who are culturally competent and empathetic, ensuring every individual feels understood and supported throughout their recovery journey.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.
• Minimum of three years of recent experience in mental health counseling and crisis intervention.
• Solid understanding of crisis intervention methodologies and trauma-informed care approaches.
• Ability to develop personalized crisis intervention plans based on rapid assessments of client needs.

Preferred Experience

• Additional training or specialization in specific areas such as addiction therapy, suicide prevention, or trauma response.
• Experience working in a community mental health setting or similar environment.
• Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems for documentation purposes.

Compensation and Benefits
