Company Description Once Upon a Time Schoolhouse Preschool & Childcare Center is an early childhood program serving families in Belleville, WI and the surrounding area. The center provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow. Play-based learning and age-appropriate activities are used to support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The team is committed to partnering with families and fostering a strong sense of community. Educators are encouraged to bring creativity, patience, and professionalism to the classroom every day.
Role Description The Lead Preschool Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Belleville, WI. This role is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for toddlers, ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Daily tasks include supervising children, guiding play and learning experiences, supporting routines such as meals and rest time, and monitoring developmental milestones. The Lead Teacher will communicate regularly with families about childrenโ€™s progress, collaborate with team members, and maintain classroom organization and cleanliness. Additional responsibilities include following center policies, documenting attendance and incidents, and participating in staff meetings and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in an early childhood education setting preferred.
  • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience in early childhood or toddler classrooms.
  • Ability to design and implement Lesson Planning that supports play-based, developmentally appropriate learning.
  • Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience in Training or mentoring assistant teachers or support staff in classroom practices.
  • Relevant early childhood education coursework, certification, or degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development, safety practices, and licensing regulations.
  • Ability to lift and safely interact with toddlers, and manage an active classroom environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Professionalism and maturity required.
