Job Title: Work Site Support Specialist
Department: Firefly Employment Services
Employment Type: Part Time (Temporary)

Job Summary:
Join our compassionate and collaborative team as a Work Site Support Specialist, where you will play a vital role in providing work-based learning experiences for eligible VR clients enrolled in high school. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by helping them develop essential employability skills in a real work environment.
We are looking for individuals who are:

In this position, you will:
  • Coordinate students' work-based learning experiences

  • Facilitate on-site support

  • Lead classroom discussions using ODEP's soft skills curriculum

  • Prepare necessary plans, reports, and paperwork to ensure a successful program

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate students' work-based learning experiences within the Pre-Employment Training - Work Experience Program with VR

  • Facilitate on-site support for students working a total of 16 hours at identified worksite(s) over four days each week, targeting 4 hours worked per day

  • Incorporate four hours of soft skills training per week and review/discuss on-site experiences during each 20-hour week of the program

  • Support students' full integration into the worksite and mediate between co-workers and supervisors as necessary

  • Prepare plans, reports, and other paperwork as needed

  • Obtain information about students through the intake process, including meetings with students, families, VR Counselors, and school personnel

  • Coordinate students' new hire paperwork, orientation, and weekly timesheets

  • Transport students to and from the worksite as needed

  • Report worksite outcomes and relevant information regarding student progress to Leadership and/or referral sources as required

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Preferably has experience in employment services, job coaching, business, sales, human resources, or human services

Additional Qualifications:
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance

  • Must have and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens

  • Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks

Physical Requirements:
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body

  • Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shifts

  • Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met
