When you join BW Design Group as a Department Manager - Process, you are joining an ENR ranked AEC firm that will challenge you and position you for growth. In this role, you will work with a team of industry experts to help the world's leading companies solve their most difficult problems. You will join our Architecture/Engineering Process Practice and partner with seasoned leaders, technical specialists, and subject matter experts to deliver the highest quality solutions to our clients with consistency and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Direct process design activities (including process descriptions, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs)
  • Lead a team of process engineers and designers to successfully execute projects that meet cGMP, FDA and other regulatory standards and requirements
  • Ensure quality through the implementation of rigorous project quality reviews
  • Review and approve drawings for client and project needs
  • Review submittals, answer RFIs, and direct field visits to verify onsite work is proceeding according to design
  • Client development activities include presenting our firms process capabilities, proposing technical solutions to meet the clients' needs and full scope efforts to complete the proposal
  • Build relationships with the greater practice and market sector professionals resulting in a completely cohesive and technically correct operational solution. This includes interfacing and integrating highly complex technical solutions across our firm-wide practices that include facility, utility, process, automation (control systems integration), and construction management professionals. These relationships also create the positive one-firm culture across the group.
  • Build and develop the team of process design engineers under your guidance and supervision

Requirements

  • 10+ years' process engineering design experience in cGMP, FDA, or other regulated manufacturing environments
  • 2+ years' experience as a process engineering design manager preferred
  • Experience developing process engineering designs for food and beverage is required
  • Demonstrated ability to present process designs to existing and new clients
  • Demonstrated ability lead a process engineering design team
  • Subject Matter Expert knowledge of cGMP regulations and standards preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Proficient with written and verbal technical communication including generating reports and conducting group presentations
  • Travel as needed to complete projects

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Master's Degree in engineering a plus

Licenses

  • Professional Engineering license preferred
