Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Occupational Health Technician, you will schedule and perform key occupational health regulatory and on-boarding tasks, supporting various functions and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Every day you will conduct pre-employment processing, drug testing, respirator fit testing, and color blindness screening. You will also perform administrative functions like EHR documentation, record management, report generation, and managing phone volume and walk-in traffic, sometimes involving travel or remote support.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong administrative and technical skills in occupational health, meticulous attention to detail in regulatory tasks, and excellent customer service abilities.

  • Completes and documents all non-licensed tasks for new hires and associates: drug screen (collection and use of chain of custody), fit testing/PAPR training, and color blindness testing.
  • Answers phones and distributes all incoming and outgoing mail and email to meet department expectations.
  • Schedules appointments for associates and candidates and maintains clinic calendar(s) on the EHR.
  • Travels to and from various facilities and locations to perform work on-site, to carry out duties, to attend meetings, to cover for employees on leave or PTO, and to provide and/or receive training.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 4 years or greater of advanced secretarial, or 1 year or greater of Business Support/clinical office management experience or medical assisting/nurse’s aide experience in a clinic setting
  • Ability to speak, read and write the English language
  • Must have advanced word-processing skills, excel, spreadsheets, graphs, power point or similar software, etc
  • Demonstrates proficiency with standard office equipment and software programs
  • Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Two years of business college or other comparable secretarial training
