Job description

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide prompt and accurate table service. Assist in the maintenance of the dining room and related service areas.
The person in this role is also expected to:
  • Uphold and put into daily practice the values of Carol Woods.
  • Support the well-being and quality of life of every individual resident.
  • Function as a good steward of resident resources.
  • Contribute to Carol Woods approach to continual quality improvement.
  • Support the concepts of a learning organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Follow service etiquette and perform plate service for meal delivery and clear tables between courses and at the end of the meal service
  • Know basic place settings when setting a table and set tables with place settings and condiments
  • Replenish condiments, beverages as needed
  • Must come to work with proper uniform in accordance with dining uniform policy
  • Cleans kitchen equipment such as, carts, tables, counters, ice machine, buckets, tray stands, chairs, beverage area, freezer, refrigerator, drains, dish machine, coffee/ tea maker, steam table, Biodigester, waffle maker, grill, etc.
  • Communicates well with patients/residents and family members providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude to families, visitors, patients/residents and responds to expressed concerns while displaying a helpful, caring demeanor. Answers questions when appropriate in a professional manner.
  • Be sensitive to and meet the needs of the residents, following through with their requests
  • Follows established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
  • Follows established safety regulations, to include fire protection & prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
  • Event preparation and service as required by event.
  • Avoid cross-contamination
  • Set up bussing station in designated location.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly dining room and related service areas.
  • Assist in the restocking of all food and non-food items during mealtimes.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience:
  • Previous food service-related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, lifting, walking, and carrying.
