Job description

Job Summary: The Cloud Infrastructure Administrator will be responsible for utilizing knowledge and experience in monitoring and securing cloud systems and environments; preferably Azure and Microsoft 365. Additionally, this position will work with the Infrastructure, Development, Data, and Information Security teams in a blended environment to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud-based and internet accessible systems and services that support core business functions of K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc., and Food City.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; and recommends process, product, or service improvements
  • Solves unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
  • Contributes to the development of functional strategy, establish operational plans and procedures
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of application developers, operations engineers, architects to understand complex product requirements and translate them into automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support and improve architecture, systems, processes, standards, and tools.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud
  • Assist with the design, and then implement, and maintain virtual server, storage, network, and security infrastructure while ensuring all solutions are properly monitored and instrumented
  • Work with application teams to migrate applications between private, public, and hybrid cloud environments where appropriate
  • Develop, implement, and test data backup and recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Write and maintain clear, concise documentation, runbooks and operational standards including infrastructure diagrams while educating/mentoring product teams and junior engineers
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in development, test, and production environments
  • Deploy and maintain code for automating the creation of scalable/resilient systems/infrastructure

Qualifications:
  • Experience in Software and/or Infrastructure required, with 3+ years desired in relevant infrastructure (systems/network), cloud, automation, and/or orchestration positions.
  • Knowledge of the offerings and capabilities of cloud computing platforms (Azure/GCP). Experience provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running in the cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, including identity, compliance, and governance strategies
  • Working knowledge of Azure Cloud Services like Azure Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Functions, Virtual Network, DevOps, Blob storage, Managed Disks, Management Groups, Resource Groups and Subscriptions
  • Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows system administration
  • PowerShell, Shell, Python, Groovy or other scripting language
  • Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Exchange and Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams Administration
  • Experience monitoring cloud and on-premise infrastructure and applications
  • Experience with Infrastructure network principles and technologies
  • Experience with routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers
  • Experience with Nutanix infrastructure and software is a plus
