Job description

The Senior Project Manager position is a hybrid-style role based between two primary locations: the Wolf Creek Contracting office in Waterford, Ohio, and active job sites. Remote work is not available for this position.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Wolf Creek Contracting is a general contractor serving commercial, industrial, and municipal markets in states across the eastern United States. Services we provide include general contracting, design-build, construction management, concrete, civil, industrial, new construction, additions and renovations, and streetscapes.

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) provides leadership and oversight for multiple commercial construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards and client expectations. This role supports project teams, mentors Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, and helps drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prioritize Safety, Quality, and Production by enforcing company standards, systems, and policies.
  • Manage multiple projects, including budgets, schedules, contracts, customer relationships, and overall project performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Monitor project budgets, job costs, forecasts, schedules, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with field leadership regarding manpower, equipment, procurement, and project execution.
  • Review and approve invoices, pay applications, and project expenditures.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, staffing discussions, and operational planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and company best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including 5+ years in a Project Management role.
  • Experience managing multiple commercial, industrial, municipal, or government construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Procore and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
