What is a WNA?

WNA typically stands for 'Welfare Needs Assessment,' which is a process used in social work and healthcare settings to evaluate an individual's or family's needs for support and services. The assessment considers various factors such as housing, income, health, and social circumstances to determine what assistance may be required. Professionals conducting a WNA aim to create a plan that addresses these needs and connects people with the right resources. The process is collaborative, involving the individual or family, and sometimes other agencies, to ensure a comprehensive support plan.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a WNA, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Workforce Needs Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, expertise in labor market trends, and typically a degree in human resources, business, or a related field. Familiarity with data analysis tools like Excel, HRIS platforms, and workforce planning software is often required. Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills help you effectively interpret data and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills are crucial for providing actionable insights that align workforce strategies with organizational goals.
