System Test / QA Validation Engineer - Indianapolis, IN

Allegion is seeking a dedicated and experienced System Test / QA Validation Engineer to join our team. As a System Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the creation, implementation, and execution of the System Test Plan for both new product development projects and the maintenance of existing products. You will work closely with our Engineering Design Team to validate Systems, Firmware, and Software Design and Implementation Changes on various safety and security products, including Electro-mechanical Locking Devices, Communication Gateways, Access Control systems, and Mobile Applications.

Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. The company does not intend to provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.) for this employment position.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the creation, implementation, and execution of the System Test Plan for new product development projects and the maintenance of existing products.
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Design Team to validate Systems, Firmware, and Software Design and Implementation Changes.
  • Ensure that products meet defined System and Firmware Requirements by working closely with Systems and Firmware Engineers.
  • Develop and utilize automation tools and techniques to create and execute comprehensive test cases for full product validation.
  • Independently implement test cases, automation scripts, new test methodologies, tools, and fixturing as required.
  • Collaborate with other System Test Engineers in the US and India to execute System Test Cycles for assigned products.
  • Focus on product development and sustaining test activities within an IoT environment, including Electro-mechanical Locking Devices, Gateway/Bridge Communication, Access Control, Mobile Applications, and Cloud components.
  • Demonstrate expertise in IoT test development for wireless communication between connected devices within a networked space.
  • Stand out with your ability to create custom internal software tools to automate software testing interfaces.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0 to 5+ years of experience in New Product Development focused on Systems, Firmware, and Software Testing.
  • Strong interest in working in a hands-on lab environment with products and test equipment.
  • Passion for creating and executing test plans on Security Products and Software.
  • Desire to create and execute System Test Plans.
  • Desire to develop automated testing methods for product validation of Systems and Firmware.
  • Ability to work within Engineering Teams throughout the product design process, from concept to production.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen interest in resolution.
  • Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment where product scope and requirements may change during any phase of a project.
  • Must be a creative thinker with high initiative and achievement goals.
  • Willingness to collaborate with international Engineering Teams, particularly in India.
  • Preferred
    • Familiarity with National Instrument TestStand and LabVIEW Software.
    • Experience with Python scripting.
    • Experience in automated test development.
