Job description

A leading aerospace and advanced technology manufacturer supporting mission-critical space and defense programs in a highly regulated production environment. The organization is known for its commitment to precision workmanship, quality, and compliance with industry standards, delivering high-reliability hardware used in demanding operational applications. This role supports complex harness manufacturing efforts where IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 (Space Addendum) standards, attention to detail, and consistency are essential to program success.
 
Work Schedule: 4/10-1st Shift, Monday to Thursday 6AM to 4:30AM.
  • We are seeking an experienced Harness Board Assembler to support the fabrication of high-density wire-to-board and cable harness assemblies in a regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for building complex harness assemblies by accurately interpreting wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and build documentation.
  • This role requires precision workmanship using industry-standard crimping and assembly tools to meet IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 (Space Addendum) requirements, as well as the ability to perform inspection and test activities to ensure product quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build high-density wire-to-board harness assemblies from engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Cut, strip, and terminate wires to precise tolerances using approved crimp tools (e.g., Molex, Daniels)
  • Install connectors, contacts, and backshells; torque hardware to specified requirements
  • Perform soldering operations in accordance with applicable workmanship standards
  • Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and torque verification testing
  • Ensure all assemblies meet IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and Space Addendum workmanship standards
  • Maintain high first-pass yield, accuracy, and on-time delivery in a production environment
  • Support prototype builds, rework, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Follow all safety, quality, and process requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on harness board assembly experience (must be clearly demonstrated in work history)
  • Strong proficiency with crimping tools and wire termination techniques
  • Experience performing continuity testing, insulation testing, soldering, and torque verification
  • Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams and engineering drawings
  • Familiarity with aerospace or space-grade workmanship standards
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand at a harness board for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety and quality standards
