About our Company:

We are a premier hospitality company with a 30,000 case DTC operation in the Temecula Wine Country. We are farming over 200-acres with 22 French and Italian varietals under the Bottaia and Ponte Winery labels.


We are looking for an experienced, passionate individual to be a part of our team at our Bottaia Winery. We are located on the Ponte Family Estate Ranch which is just east of the Ponte Winery Tasting Room. The Bottaia Tasting Room and Pool Club bring a unique experience to Temecula Wine Country, including new wines, a semi-Olympic size pool, a splash pad for the kids, and 30 cabines (traditional Italian beach changing rooms), and a poolside bar and café.


Job Summary:

The Tasting Room Server will primarily focus on providing our guests with excellent customer service while educating the guest on their wine tastings.

Compensation: $16.90 hourly + tips + commissions!


Schedule:

  • Wednesday- Sunday, at minimum business needs.
  • Weekends are a must.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests with a smile and respond quickly to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • This sales position. Server are expected to sell wine, wine club memberships and experiences.
  • Explain the tasting process and the various wines to the guest before they have to ask.
  • Pour six tastings per wine club member or guest while carrying a friendly conversation. Watch for signs of intoxication ensuring guest safety.
  • Explain the wine club membership and its benefits and discounts and ask them if they would like to become a member.
  • Assist them in wine and merchandise purchases.
  • Thank the guest for coming and ask them to return again.
  • Perform any additional duties such as stocking wine, setting up the counter, opening bottles, and cleaning as requested by the Tasting Room Manager or Assistant Tasting Room Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be 21 and over.
  • Exhibits integrity (honesty and truthfulness).
  • Has attention to detail.
  • Is consistently striving to be better.
  • Courteous and has the ability to smile spontaneously.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to focus for an entire shift, trouble shooting and prioritizing skills.
  • Must have exceptional grooming standards that are consistent with company guidelines.
  • 1-3 years in a sales related field.
  • Must have sales ability and be able to up-sell bottles to cases.
  • Must be outgoing and able to approach guests and initiate conversation.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in high and low temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift 40 - 50lbs regularly
  • Must be able to work special events (i.e., barrel tastings, wine club pick up parties, etc.)
  • Experience with wine desirable but not essential
  • Positive attitude, good conversational skills and enjoys working with the guests.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Able to engage the guests in a clear and professional manner.
  • Be willing and able to work well under pressure.
  • Work in high paced work environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain a Riverside County Food Handler’s Card.
