Job Summary:
Orgill, Inc. is seeking an experienced systems administrator to enhance their technology capabilities on a global scale. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting critical technology systems, building solutions, implementing software and hardware, and assisting in the development of a comprehensive technology strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Effective operations of VMWare vSphere production infrastructure systems
• Effective operations of Microsoft Windows 2019 and newer production infrastructure systems.
• Support of internal platforms and multiple guest operating systems to ensure exceptional user experiences.
• Accept guidance from leaders to conform to standards established and follow polices in the Technology Department to maintain smooth consistent operations in all areas.
• Work with others to maintain our existing and any new platforms ensuring successful implementation and operations targeting 100% uptime.
• Configure, tailor, and monitor existing and new backups ensuring 100% recovery from any situation in a timely manner.
• Work with the security team when necessary to ensure systems are protected.
• Work with the network team when needed to determine problems.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:

• Knowledge of VMWare’s vSphere operating systems installation, maintenance, and support
• Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems installation, maintenance, and support
• Knowledge of Active Directory system Maintenance
• Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
• Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate
• Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented verbally as well as in writing
• Taking guidance from senior staff to implement solutions based on existing policies
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or a combination of related experience and education is preferred
• Five years of System Administrator experience is required including troubleshooting in a large Enterprise environment
• Five years of previous experience with VMWare vSphere and VCenter is required
• Five years of previous experience Windows Server O/S supporting multiple applications
• Ability to be in the office a minimum of 40 hours a week plus 24X7 on call support with comp time
• Knowledge of Server Hardware Support and Maintenance
Preferred:
• Five years of PowerShell, PowerCLI, and other scripting languages to reduce repetitive tasks
• Knowledge of a Pure Storage SAN environment
