Windows SQL Systems Administrator We are seeking a skilled and experienced Windows SQL Systems Administrator to join our team in Atlanta, Irvine or Los Angeles. In this essential role, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our financial systems environment, directly supporting attorneys and business professionals in delivering exceptional client service. The Windows SQL Systems Administrator supports and enhances the firm’s financial systems environment in a multi-office law firm supporting approximately 1,500 users.

This role is responsible for the administration, performance, and reliability of the firm’s financial systems platform, including practice management and related financial applications, as well as the SQL Server infrastructure supporting those systems. The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting enterprise financial systems in a law firm or professional services environment, combined with strong SQL Server knowledge and a solid understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure. Experience with legal practice management systems such as Aderant or similar platforms is strongly preferred.

This position works closely with accounting, applications, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure the stability of the firm’s financial systems. Windows SQL Systems Administrator Key Responsibilities Financial Systems AdministrationAdminister and support the firm’s financial and practice management systems. Maintain and troubleshoot supporting financial platforms and related integrations.

Monitor system health and performance of the financial systems environment. Assist with system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes related to financial applications. Work closely with accounting and finance teams to support billing, expense management, collections, and reporting processes.

Diagnose and resolve complex issues impacting financial system functionality, performance, or integrations. Maintain integrations between financial systems and other firm platforms. SQL Server & Database SupportMaintain and support SQL Server environments supporting financial systems.

Perform database troubleshooting, query analysis, execution plan review, and performance tuning. Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports, and data extracts as needed. Assist with database maintenance tasks including indexing, integrity checks, and monitoring.

Configure and Support cluster and high availability or redundancy configurations, backup strategies, and recovery procedures for financial databases. Systems & Infrastructure Collaboration Work with infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues involving:Windows Server environments Active Directory authentication and permissions File systems supporting financial applications Virtualization platforms (Nutanix, VMware, or similar) Network connectivity affecting application performance Provide escalation-level support to the Service Desk and Applications teams for complex system issues. Cross-Platform Systems SupportAssist with troubleshooting enterprise applications where database or server infrastructure intersects with application performance.

Provide SQL expertise across other enterprise systems when needed. Participate in system improvement initiatives and automation opportunities. Documentation & Operational ExcellenceMaintain documentation for system architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures.

Develop knowledgebase articles and operational documentation. Assist with disaster recovery planning and testing related to financial systems. Participate in maintaining system reliability, monitoring, and operational best practices.

Windows SQL Systems Administrator Required Qualifications5+ years of experience supporting enterprise financial or accounting systems. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including troubleshooting, query optimization, and performance tuning.

Experience supporting financial systems within a law firm or professional services organization strongly preferred. Experience with legal practice management systems (Aderant or similar platforms) preferred.
