Sr. Virtualization & Storage Engineer (Migration Specialist) Sr Virtualization & Storage Engineer Job Summary We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Virtualization & Storage Engineer to lead our infrastructure modernization efforts. The primary focus of this role is to architect, plan, and execute the migration of our workloads away from a legacy VxRail environment onto a new Dell Private Cloud architecture.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware vSphere, Dell PowerEdge servers, and Dell PowerStore storage. You will be responsible for defining the target architecture, optimizing storage performance, and ensuring a seamless, low-downtime migration. Experience with Dell???s newer Private Cloud offerings is preferred, but strong experience with VxRail, PowerStore, and VMware VCF is essential.

Sr Virtualization & Storage Engineer Key Responsibilities Migration Strategy & Execution: Lead the planning and execution of moving production workloads from VxRail to a new Dell Private Cloud/PowerStore architecture with minimal downtime. Architecture & Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to design a resilient and scalable Dell-based infrastructure, including PowerStore storage and PowerEdge compute. Virtualization Engineering: Engineer, administer, and optimize VMware vSphere/ESXi environments, including VDS management, resource pools, and high availability.

Storage Management: Configure, manage, and migrate data to Dell PowerStore, ensuring high performance, storage tiering, snapshot management, and replication. Dell Infrastructure Owner: Own the end-to-end lifecycle for Dell PowerEdge servers, including firmware/BIOS updates and iDRAC management. Capacity Planning: Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and optimization of the virtual infrastructure.

Documentation & Best Practices: Document new system configurations, operational procedures, and best practices to ensure long-term stability. Required Skills & Experience 5-8+ years of experience in virtualization and enterprise storage engineering. Deep expertise in VxRail: Extensive experience managing, troubleshooting, and migrating off VxRail clusters.

VMware Mastery: Strong proficiency in VMware vSphere 7.x/8.x, vCenter, vSAN, and VDS. Dell Storage & Compute: Proven experience with Dell PowerStore storage systems and PowerEdge server management. Migration Experience: Proven experience with data migration tools and techniques (e.g., Storage vMotion, PowerStore native tools).

Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell/PowerCLI for automating provisioning and configuration tasks. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves) Experience with Dell Private Cloud/Dell Technologies Automated Platform (formerly NativeEdge). VMware VCP (VMware Certified Professional) or VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional).

Dell EMC Proven Professional certifications. Experience in cyber-resilience tools (e.g., Veeam, Dell Data Domain). Soft Skills Ability to work independently and drive projects forward in a high-visibility environment.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills to articulate technical strategies to non-technical stakeholders. #RT #DICEJOBS
