Job description

Position Summary

The IT Server and Storage Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, management, and monitoring of the enterprise server and storage infrastructure. The server and storage engineer will ensure maximum uptime of the infrastructure and applications to support users, document and maintain hardware and application configurations and designs. They will also be responsible for upgrades, updates, and patching of server and storage infrastructure. The server and storage engineer must also troubleshoot performance and outage issues involving the server and storage infrastructure. They will also be involved in managing the relationships with vendors and service providers of server and storage products and services.

  • Server virtualization environment configuration and management
  • Enterprise class storage configuration and management
  • Database configuration and management
  • Cloud configuration and management
  • Enterprise printing configuration and management and automated printer supply order management
  • Document management System management and administration
  • Management and administration of enterprise supporting services, such as directory services, name resolution, network address management
  • Microsoft Active Directory management and administration
  • Enterprise data backup management and administration
  • Change management and software updates for all server and storage infrastructure
  • Security of the enterprise server and storage infrastructure as well as securing the data stored on the infrastructure

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering or equivalent experience required

Experience

  • 8+ years of server and storage management and administration required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. 
  • Ability to work with non-technical users and management to assess and understand their needs required.
