Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to support a major national laboratory. 

Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 3 support for Windows Server and SharePoint environments, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Perform administration, operations, and maintenance (O&M) activities to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of enterprise systems.
  • Plan and execute SharePoint and Windows Server patching, upgrades, and system enhancements in accordance with operational and security requirements.
  • Monitor system health and proactively identify, investigate, and resolve infrastructure issues to minimize service disruptions.
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance activities, including patch deployments, upgrades, and critical support efforts.
Qualifications
  • BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
  • Must have an Active DOE Security Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen

Required Skills:

  • Experience managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments.
  • Knowledge of deploying security patches and system updates to maintain compliance and stability.
  • Proficiency using PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow for incident, service request, problem, and change management activities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly document technical information and effectively collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, support requests, and project activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience administering and supporting SharePoint environments, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of managing enterprise physical and virtual server infrastructure in a highly available environment.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server databases and IIS administration to support SharePoint and related applications.
