Job description


SAIC is seeking a PowerShell & WPF Application Developer to join our team in Hampton, VA in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program's Application Transformation (AppTX) team. A strong candidate has deep experience developing Windows-based automation and UI applications using PowerShell, XAML, and WPF, along with experience integrating those applications into Command & Control (C2) environments.
Ideal applicants will also be familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, DoD cybersecurity requirements, AWS cloud environments, Windows Server administration, and automation pipelines. Experience supporting GCCS-J or other C2 systems is highly desirable.
This role focuses on building automation tooling, dashboards, orchestration utilities, and operator-facing interfaces that streamline configuration, monitoring, and sustainment of C2 systems across both cloud and on-prem environments.
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop WPF/XAML applications using PowerShell to support automation, operator workflows, configuration management, and system orchestration.
  • Build UI-driven dashboards for monitoring, configuration, and lifecycle management of C2 virtual machine-based systems.
  • Create PowerShell automation modules to install, configure, and sustain applications across Windows Server and Linux environments.
  • Integrate WPF applications with cloud-hosted systems, including AWS EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and related services.
  • Implement DoD cybersecurity controls within automation workflows and UI-driven tools.
  • Support cybersecurity monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and compliance validation.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code and Configuration-as-Code artifacts using PowerShell DSC, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
  • Document application architecture, automation workflows, and operational procedures for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, developers, managers, and auditors to deliver Dashboard capabilities on schedule.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years of experience; OR
  • Master's degree and seven (7) years of experience; OR
  • Equivalent combination of certifications and professional experience.

Required Experience
  • Eight-plus (8+) years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or C2 system sustainment.
  • Expert-level PowerShell development experience, including module design, advanced functions, remoting, and DSC.
  • Strong experience with WPF/XAML UI development, MVVM patterns, and Windows desktop application design.
  • Experience with Windows Server and Linux systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Command & Control (C2) systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity controls, STIGs, scans, and remediation.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-hosted virtualized systems.
  • Familiarity with containerized applications and Kubernetes deployments.

Clearance & Certifications
  • Active Secret clearance (Top Secret eligible).
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD IAT Level II certification.
