Job description

Senior-Level Windows Systems Administrator

Seeking a senior-level Windows Systems Administrator with experience in an enterprise environment to help support a network integration project. We will be migrating existing servers to new IP ranges for multiple networks at multiple sites.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 8-10 years of experience in IT as a Systems Administrator. Professional certifications such as MCSE or similar experience.
  • Professional Skills – Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be able to coordinate well with multiple teams, and have the ability to perform analysis of the existing environment to devise a detailed plan with the steps required to complete each migration.
  • Platforms – Must have significant experience supporting Windows servers. The servers are primarily Windows 2012 and 2016, but there may be older servers involved.
  • DNS and Networking – Will need to have a thorough understanding of how a Windows server communicates over a network, including interactions with other DNS providers (e.g. Infoblox) and the ability to update the IP configuration and other network components.
  • Scripting and Automation Tools – Need to be proficient with PowerShell and other scripting languages to help automate the migration. Should have experience working with code repositories such as GitLab/GitHub. Experience with BMC BladeLogic/TSSA or similar deployment automation platforms.
  • Change Management – Must have experience working within a Change Management process. Will need to write change request tickets and follow them through the approval process. ServiceNow experience desired.
