Job description

Description

The client is seeking a highly experienced Microsoft Intune Consultant / Endpoint Modernization Engineer to partner with their Endpoint Engineering team on a critical modernization initiative. The organization currently operates in a co-managed SCCM and Intune environment and is looking to accelerate its transition toward a modern cloud-managed endpoint strategy. The consultant will work closely with the Desktop Manager and Senior Endpoint Engineer to assess, rationalize, and migrate approximately 160+ Group Policies into Intune while establishing a roadmap for future-state endpoint management.

The primary focus of the engagement will be evaluating existing GPOs, determining which policies should be migrated, modified, and implementing Intune Configuration Profiles aligned with best practices. This resource will provide both hands-on engineering support and strategic guidance around endpoint modernization, helping the client overcome bandwidth constraints and make meaningful progress toward its Intune adoption goals.

Skills

Microsoft, intune, group policy objects, sccm, Endpoint, powershell, azure ad, application package, Active directory, O365, Windows server, Support, System administrator

Top Skills' Details

1. Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Management

• Expert-level experience designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft Intune in enterprise environments.

• Will be responsible for evaluating the client's current Intune configuration, building and optimizing configuration profiles, managing device policies, and helping drive the transition from SCCM to a more modern cloud-managed endpoint environment.

• Success requires hands-on experience with multiple Intune migration or modernization projects and the ability to provide best-practice recommendations.

2. Group Policy (GPO) Analysis & Migration (5+ years required)

• Deep understanding of Active Directory Group Policies and experience translating GPOs into Intune Configuration Profiles and cloud-based policy management.

• Will analyze approximately 160+ existing GPOs, determine which policies should be migrated, modified, and partner with internal teams to establish a future-state policy framework.

• Success requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to rationalize legacy policies rather than simply recreating them in Intune.

3. SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager (5+ years required)

• Strong background managing SCCM environments and experience moving workloads from SCCM to Intune within co-managed environments.

• Will assess the current SCCM footprint, identify dependencies, and advise on the modernization strategy while minimizing operational disruption.

• Success requires understanding both legacy and modern endpoint management approaches.

4. Endpoint Modernization / Windows Device Management (5+ years required)

• Experience supporting Windows 10/11 device management, compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, and modern workplace initiatives.

• Will help establish the roadmap for future-state device provisioning and endpoint management, including Autopilot readiness and cloud provisioning strategies.

• Success requires a consultative mindset and experience leading enterprise endpoint transformation efforts.

5. Consulting & Stakeholder Communication (3+ years required)

• Proven ability to partner with technical teams, provide strategic guidance, and influence decisions through expertise and best practices.

• Will work directly with the client's Endpoint Engineering team, security teams, and leadership stakeholders to navigate technical and organizational challenges.

• Success requires strong communication skills, the ability to identify risks and roadblocks, and experience advising organizations through similar modernization initiatives.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience utilizing Intune Group Policy Analytics to assess, analyze, and map existing GPOs into Intune policies.

Experience working in co-managed SCCM and Intune environments and supporting organizations through endpoint management modernization efforts.

Ability to evaluate legacy Group Policies and determine which settings should be migrated, modified.

Experience collaborating with infrastructure, endpoint, and security teams to overcome technical and policy-related roadblocks.

Strong understanding of Windows endpoint management, device configuration, and policy deployment.

Ability to provide strategic recommendations and best practices based on prior Intune migration and modernization engagements.
