EGS is seeking an experienced Network & Infrastructure Engineer IV to support our client located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This is a long term (3-4 years) contract position that comes with top competitive rates and great benefits.

This role is responsible the network and on-premises virtual infrastructure development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) focused team to create, deploy, integrate, and maintain hybrid/edge multi-tenant infrastructure designs for secured, scalable and resilient application environments.
Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:
  • Integrate network/computer/storage management system for Cloud Service Providers and on-premises Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions into full-lifecycle operational service delivery and project management platforms.
  • Design and deploy hardened and compliant office and enterprise Network Infrastructure supporting multi-tenant, virtualized and/or High-Performance Computing production environments either within on-premises IaaS, cloud service provider infrastructure and service platforms, or hybrid combination of both, for best performance and secure processing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain security, availability, performance, and scalability, continuous improvement, and monitoring for highly available and redundant network and virtual infrastructure.
  • Full life-cycle development, test, and production management for business-critical applications and end-user productivity software, tailored for manufacturing and engineering, modeling, and data analytic needs.
  • Research vendor network and virtualization deployment guides and instructions for new products to develop secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure enabling enterprise applications and platforms integration into core service management systems.
  • Redesign recommendations for existing network and virtualization infrastructure to achieve improved security, and enterprise scalability and resiliency requirements for various production, test, and development environments.
  • Take ownership of project requirement development, deployment, and operational release management.
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Lead the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities, listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.
  • Shares knowledge related to industry best practices and standards with others across the team.
  • Experience as project manager or network engineering lead.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer information management, or High School Diploma with a minimum four-year work experience in Information Technology field.
  • Typically, ten years of experience supporting a network and infrastructure role required.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise network and virtual infrastructure engineering and management experience of multi-site, hybrid on-premises and Cloud Service Provider compute and storage environments.
  • Demonstrate strong experience with building configurations, deployment, troubleshooting and secure management of enterprise grade Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Wireless Access Point (WAP), Site-to-Site IPSec Tunnels, Cloud Service Provider (CSP) network security and IP address management, as well as Software-Defined (SD) Wide-Area Networking (WAN) from Cloud Service Provider offerings and capabilities.
  • Demonstrate experience with configuration, deployment, troubleshooting and secure management of on-premises virtual hypervisors and platform infrastructure to include compute and storage offerings and capabilities to enable scale, high availability and recovery.
  • Experience supporting and/or integrating network and virtual infrastructure systems into automated service delivery management systems.
  • Must have experience in building office and enterprise-grade network systems supporting for on-premises IaaS, HPC and Cloud Service Provider environments to support secure and scalable production software platforms.
  • Familiarization with development and continued compliance management of network systems aligned to NIST 800-171 and 800-53 control families, or Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmark configurations.
  • Knowledge of network engineering solutions leveraging and/or integrating next-generation network Infrastructure/Platform/Software as-a-Service capabilities offered by cloud service providers.
  • Expertise in enterprise scaling technologies and solutions.
Work Site Expectations: 5 days in office
Travel Expectations: 5% (as needed for project assignment)
Hours: Standard office hours are 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday - Friday
