What are SCCM and MECM?

SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) are Microsoft management solutions used by IT professionals to deploy, manage, and secure devices and applications across an organization. SCCM was the original name, but Microsoft rebranded it as MECM as part of the Microsoft Endpoint Manager suite. These tools help automate tasks such as software deployment, patch management, operating system deployment, and inventory tracking, making them essential for large-scale IT environments.

Is SCCM still in demand?

Are SCCM and MECM the same thing?

SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) refer to the same management platform from Microsoft, with MECM being the newer name for SCCM after rebranding. Both are used by IT professionals to deploy, manage, and update Windows devices and require skills in system administration and software deployment. The change reflects Microsoft's broader focus on endpoint management across various device types.

How much do SCCM administrators make?

SCCM administrators typically earn between $70,000 and $120,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and location. Skilled professionals with expertise in system management tools and scripting can command higher salaries in enterprise environments.
