We’re actively seeking a talented Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join our Data Center Services team in Charlotte, NC.
As a Senior Windows Infrastructure Engineer you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by designing, implementing, and maintaining modern IT infrastructure across various locations globally. You will be involved in efforts to automate processes, enhance system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of our systems enterprise wide. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of 10 people in the Pacific Life Technology division. Your colleagues will include fellow Windows, Linux, Storage and Data Center professionals.
How you’ll help move us forward:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable IT infrastructure solutions across multiple regions.

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure Windows Server-based systems across data centers and cloud environments in multiple regions globally.

  • Provide escalation support for complex Windows Server issues, collaborating with operations and support teams to resolve incidents efficiently.

  • Define security best practices, hardening guidelines, and compliance standards for Windows Server environment.

  • Communicate and enforce Windows Server standards across teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation and compliance.

  • Participate in automation projects to optimize system performance and reduce manual intervention globally.

  • Ensure the security, availability, and performance of IT systems globally.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and automation techniques.

  • Modernize data center operations to improve efficiency and incorporate the latest technologies.

  • Ensure security and industry standards are being met through automation.

  • Ensure the reliability of server and storage infrastructure, including regular maintenance and performance optimization.

  • Manage and optimize virtualization and hyper-converged infrastructure to ensure high availability and scalability.

  • Ensure comprehensive backups, effective monitoring, capacity planning, and thorough documentation for all data centers globally.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.


The experience you bring:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, virtualization platforms, and hyper converged infrastructure.

  • Deep expertise in Windows Server administration, operations, escalation support, and security best practices.

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$152,370.00 - $186,230.00
