Job description

GEV Wind Power U.S. is seeking a Traveling Lead Service Technician to support service operations across multiple wind farm sites, with a strong focus on Siemens 2.3MW turbines and additional service projects. This role is ideal for an experienced technician who can lead teams in the field while maintaining high standards of safety, performance, and reporting.
Job Responsibilities
  • Travel 100% to wind farms thought North America on an 8/1 rotation.
  • Lead and execute wind turbine service projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards
  • Provide on-site leadership and guidance to service technicians
  • Perform maintenance on Siemens 2.3MW turbines and other platforms (e.g., generator alignments, filter changes, and general service work)
  • Act as the primary point of contact for site stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional communication
  • Complete and maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and administrative tasks
  • Ensure compliance with all company, client, and regulatory safety standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior technicians

Must meet the following requirements, have or obtain the listed required certifications and training (may be provided) including, but not limited to:
  • Proven experience servicing wind turbines, preferably Siemens 2.3MW platforms
  • Must have strong experience doing torquing and tensioning
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a field service environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage administrative responsibilities, including reporting and documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and crews in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically able to safely climb wind turbines up to 120m+ (400+ feet), stand, stoop, walk, crawl, crouch, lift up to 75 lbs. and generally meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record (MVR required)
  • Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle
  • Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Satisfactory criminal background check

Certifications (Required or Will Be Provided)
The following certifications or will train:
  • GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid
  • GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, prefer but not required
  • Siemens Basic Technician Training (Green Profile)
  • OSHA 10 General Industry
  • NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness
