We are actively seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Brazer to join our fabrication team on an urgent basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing precise metal joining operations using various brazing techniques, ensuring high-quality assemblies that meet strict industry standards. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with technical drawings, and adherence to safety protocols. The successful applicant will contribute significantly to our manufacturing processes by delivering durable, accurate, and reliable metal fabrications essential for diverse construction and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to determine proper brazing procedures
  • Prepare metal components by cleaning, fitting, and aligning parts using hand tools and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
  • Execute brazing operations utilizing appropriate techniques including gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), tungsten inert gas (TIG), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)
  • Operate power tools, plasma cutters, and pipe threading equipment to shape and assemble metal materials accurately
  • Use measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Follow safety protocols rigorously during all welding and fabrication activities
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring precision in metal fabrication and construction site requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards at all times
  • Inspect completed welds for quality assurance using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools
  • Support fabrication shop operations through machining, sheet metal work, and assembly as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in construction site environments or fabrication shops involving metal welding and assembly
  • Proficiency with various welding techniques including MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), SMAW, FCAW, and gas metal arc welding
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and shop math
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings related to pipe threading, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assemblies
  • Experience working with construction equipment like cranes is advantageous
  • Mechanical knowledge of metal materials, fabrication processes, and safety protocols
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, and machining tools
  • Understanding of American Welding Society (AWS) standards or similar industry certifications preferred
  • Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
