About the Position Amador Water Agency, California Engineering Manager The Amador Water Agency (AWA) is seeking a highly qualified Engineering Manager to plan, direct, and oversee the Agency's engineering functions supporting water and wastewater infrastructure systems throughout Amador County. This position provides technical leadership and management of staff, consultants, and complex capital improvement projects essential to public health and safety. The Engineering Manager provides leadership and oversight of the Engineering Department, managing staff, consultants, and complex capital improvement projects.

This role serves as the designated engineer in responsible charge, overseeing planning, design, construction, regulatory compliance, and budget administration for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The Engineering Manager represents the Agency before the Board of Directors and external stakeholders while promoting innovation, efficiency, and high professional standards. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in civil and utility engineering, proven leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, forward-thinking approach to public service. Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field is required. Possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of ten years of increasing responsible experience in engineering, planning or management. Five years of management/supervisory experience. Supplemental Information BENEFITS: A competitive compensation package including retirement, health benefits, and paid leave.
