We are looking for the right person to join our team as a Safety Manager.    Is that you?   If so, we want to talk to you!

Responsibilities

As a Safety Manager, your key responsibility will be to manage and enforce Wilhelm's Safety Program for the assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. By using and enforcing job specific safety standards, best management practices, and Wilhelm's safety program, the Safety Coordinator shall ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site resulting in an accident/incident free project.

 A.    Education

  • Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meeting' and document content and attendance.
  • Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
  • Advise project staff on site specific safety issues/guideline
  • Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations

 B.    Jobsite

  • Enforce safe work practices and safe working conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Wilhelm company policies and owner/contractual requirements.
  • Conduct daily and/or weekly (as appropriate or specified by job) job site inspections.
  • Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
  • Investigate, corroborate, document, all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
  • Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.

What it takes

  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods and OSHA standards.
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • 3+ years safety experience in construction or similar industry.
  • MUST have 3+ years in Industrial, Cast-In-Place, and Commercial construction - REQUIRED
  • Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows.
