We are looking for the right person to join our team as a Scheduling Engineer. Is that you? If so, we want to talk to you!
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite. No remote or hybrid options available.
Responsibilities
The Scheduling Engineer serves as the scheduling subject matter expert for F.A. Wilhelm Construction. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing detailed construction schedules from project planning through final completion.
Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, owners, and design teams, the Scheduling Engineer ensures schedules accurately represent construction sequencing, identify critical path activities, and support successful project execution.
  • Develop complete baseline construction schedules utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Build schedules from construction drawings, specifications, renderings, one-line diagrams, and contract documents.
  • Develop resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules when required.
  • Update project schedules throughout construction.
  • Analyze critical path activities and schedule logic.
  • Identify schedule risks and recommend recovery strategies.
  • Review contractor, subcontractor, vendor, and design team schedules for accuracy and constructability.
  • Coordinate schedule updates with Project Managers and Superintendents.
  • Conduct regular jobsite walks to validate physical progress.
  • Analyze schedule impacts related to change orders and unforeseen conditions.
  • Present schedule updates to project leadership, owners, and clients.
  • Maintain multiple active schedules across several projects.
  • Ensure schedule integrity through proper logic, sequencing, float analysis, and activity relationships.
  • Support claims avoidance through accurate schedule documentation.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of commercial construction scheduling experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM).
  • Ability to independently develop complete construction schedules from project inception.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial and industrial construction sequencing.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of MEP installation sequencing and coordination.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
