Job description

Homelike comfort meets modern convenience at FairfieldInn& Suites Marshall. Our extended-stay hotel places you near popular destinations,including Josey Ranch, the U.S. Federal Courthouse, East Texas BaptistUniversity, Wiley College and Jefferson, Texas.

A Hotel Front Desk Manager supervises daily frontoffice operations, ensuring high guest satisfaction through efficientcheck-in/out, complaint resolution, and staff training. They manage employeeschedules, oversee reservations, and handle billing/reports. Keyresponsibilities include implementing service standards, maintaining systemproficiency, and supporting overall hotel revenue goals.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate front desk agents and night auditors.
  • Guest Service Excellence: Resolve guest complaints promptly, providing "service recovery" to maintain high satisfaction scores
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise daily check-ins/check-outs, room assignments, and property management system (PMS) accuracy.
  • Financial Accountability: Manage cash handling, verify shift payments, prepare bank deposits, and monitor daily room revenue.
  • Communication & Safety: Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance for room availability; monitor security and safety protocols.
  • Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the front office.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience as a front desk agent or supervisor is required, usually 2-5 years in hospitality.
  • System Knowledge: Proficiency in hotel PMS software (Marriott)
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Education: High school diploma required; a degree in hospitality management is preferred.
