Job description

Job Summary

The full time Audiologist will work in a team-based environment to provide the high-level audiologic care. This individual should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced ENT clinic with a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team. The audiologist will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services by assessing and treating neonate, infant, children, adolescent, adult, and geriatric hearing, balance, and communication disorders.

Performance: Position Specific Essential Functions

  • Identifies and determines type, degree and severity of hearing loss, in patients across the lifespan, utilizing appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Shows competency in performing vestibular evaluations, interpreting test results and counseling patients regarding balance disorders and recommendations.
  • Provides treatment with hearing aids and assistive devices, bone anchored or cochlear implants, exhibiting appropriate programming and/or mapping capabilities and providing counseling and appropriate rehabilitation to patients and families. Preference for competency or willingness to work with the following hearing aid manufacturers: Phonak, Oticon, GN ReSound, and Widex and as well as Cochlear Americas for implants.
  • Completes the following tests based on best practices: standard and pediatric audiometry, VNG, EcochG, and ABR/ASSR on newborns and as needed for other populations.
  • Adheres to departmental documentation standards, including: content, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Fits patients across the lifespan with custom and non-custom hearing and water protection
  • Participates in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations and utilizes resources to enhance quality of care provided in the clinical setting.
  • Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Doctoral Degree in Audiology (Ph.D, Au.D.): Required

Experience

  • 1+ yearss of experience in utilization in Epic EMR: Preferred

Certification/Licensure

  • Audiologist License Valid in the State of Texas: Required
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency: Preferred
