The culture we cultivate welcomes innovation through creativity and promotes teamwork.

About the Role:

As a Bartender in Pittsburgh, you will play a crucial role in creating an exceptional guest experience by expertly preparing and serving a wide variety of beverages in a fast-paced environment. Your primary goal is to ensure customer satisfaction through attentive service, accurate order taking, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. You will engage with patrons to provide recommendations, handle transactions efficiently, and uphold all safety and sanitation standards. This role requires a balance of technical drink-making skills and interpersonal communication to foster a welcoming atmosphere. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to the establishment's reputation and success by encouraging repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Legal age to serve alcohol in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Previous experience as a bartender or in a customer service role within a hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of drink recipes and bar equipment operation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol).
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling.
  • Knowledge of craft cocktails and mixology techniques.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume setting.
  • Bilingual skills or additional language proficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes and customer preferences.
  • Greet customers warmly, take drink orders, and provide recommendations based on customer tastes and current promotions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking supplies and cleaning glassware and utensils.
  • Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately, ensuring proper billing and change.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and legal regulations related to alcohol service, including checking identification to verify legal drinking age.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth service flow and resolve any customer concerns promptly and professionally.

Skills:

The required skills such as communication and customer service are essential for engaging with patrons and ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously. Technical skills in drink preparation and knowledge of bar equipment enable the bartender to deliver consistent and high-quality beverages. Cash handling and POS system proficiency ensure accurate and efficient transaction processing, minimizing errors. Preferred skills like mixology and certification in responsible alcohol service enhance the bartender's ability to offer specialized drinks and maintain compliance with legal standards. Multitasking and organizational skills are critical for managing multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
