IJW Whiskey Company, LLC (IJW) is a dynamic, fully integrated spirits company. Founded in 2017, we've compiled the largest independent library of aged Kentucky bourbon and rye and established a global presence including offices in Beverly Hills, Louisville and Tokyo, Japan, a 40-acre campus in Danville. Our ambitious growth trajectory includes a new whiskey distillery in Shelbyville, KY, slated for completion in early 2026, and a Japanese distillery in Chitose that that will be completed in late 2026.
With over 100 years of combined industry expertise, our diverse team of seasoned professionals and dynamic newcomers has propelled IJW to the forefront of the spirits industry. Our strategic partnership with one of the nation's largest independent Wine & Spirits distributors has enabled us to offer 22 products across four unique private label bourbon brands in 28 states. We have expanded our portfolio with our first Tequila and Mezcal brands, and are now launching The Maven - the authority of modern luxury bourbon, standing at the intersection of world-class whiskey, our world-class distillery, and the luxury consumer - as our ultra-premium expression at the $200 price point.
Position Overview:
The Luxury Ambassador is the dynamic, in-person face of the brand. The Maven Ambassador will be an authority of modern luxury bourbon, standing at the intersection of world-class whiskey, our world-class distillery, and the luxury consumer. The Maven launches nationally, with the Ambassador supporting our focus markets to build the brand's presence, reputation, and lifestyle credibility from the ground up. The Ambassador must be genuinely comfortable in the luxury world, have a strong network among the luxury brand/consumer community, its brands, its establishments, its lifestyle, and is professional and knowledgeable in the whiskey or spirits space (spirits education or certification a plus). This role is a key building block in shaping The Maven's brand image as the brand comes to market.
This is a single national hire to start. Initial focus markets include Los Angeles, New York City and Louisville (and Lexington) KY. The Ambassador will be supporting these markets as The Maven launches.
Job Responsibilities:
  • In the Trade:
    Be a regular face in targeted accounts. Be a valued asset to the account related The Maven (staff education, consumer activations and engagement and custom events)
    Maintain relationships and be present in market.

  • With the Consumer:
    Help the team to build and facilitate luxury-partnership activations (auto, watch, aviation, and other affinity categories).
    Cultivate private-client relationships.

  • Feedback Loop:
    Report market intelligence back to the brand and distributor.
    Be a accelerator for the brand surfacing opportunities, accumulating consumer interactions, building positive luxury experiences for consumers, the trade and the brand.

Qualifications:
  • Professional and poised

  • Fluent and comfortable in luxury settings

  • Deep understanding of hospitality and branding

  • Able to quickly build genuine connections within each market's luxury hospitality and social circles

  • Approachable, with a confident, polished presence

  • Experience working with distributor partners a plus

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned market

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge or awareness of the luxury spirits category, competitive set, and on/off-premise dynamics
