Job description

Description:

At Weyerhaeuser, we are the world’s premier timber, land, and forest products company. Sustainability has been central to our business since 1938, when we planted our first seedling by hand. For more than 100 years, our people have made a lasting impact by managing every acre with diligence, patience, and pride. That is the Weyerhaeuser way.
Our IT team is digitally transforming how we plan, produce, and deliver products across our business. We are modernizing planning capabilities by leveraging advanced technologies, data-driven insights, and integrated planning platforms to improve decision-making and operational performance. Help shape the future of planning at Weyerhaeuser as we drive digital transformation across Sales & Operations Planning, Supply Planning, Scheduling, and related business processes.

As a Product Manager II on the Wood Products IT Planning team, you will guide cross-functional teams to support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Supply Planning, Scheduling, and broader supply chain planning capabilities. In this senior role, you will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, championing planning solutions that align with strategic business objectives and deliver measurable value. You will play a key role in a major planning transformation initiative, partnering closely with business leaders and implementation teams to evaluate, implement, and sustain modern planning platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business and IT to ensure solutions meet business needs and support WP strategic goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure technology partners deliver to WY expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to understand pain points and identify high-value opportunities for process and technology improvements.
  • Build and maintain product backlog, prioritizing features based on ROI, feasibility, and strategic alignment.
  • Understand, rank, and prioritize business requirements while ensuring each product release delivers maximum business value.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop strategic AI roadmaps and measurable KPIs to optimize operational excellence in sales, aligning to AI initiatives and strategic goals.
  • Promote the adoption of cutting-edge AI systems to increase efficiencies and automate sales execution processes.
  • Educate and support end-users to ensure adoption and optimal use of solutions.
Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive IT experience, including at least 5 years in product management or related technology roles focused on delivering products or solutions (preferably in sales or other relevant sectors).
  • Advanced proficiency in core product management disciplines, such as product visioning, roadmap planning, requirements management, agile delivery, stakeholder engagement, and governance
  • High level of business acumen and judgement. Experience managing products with broad scope and impact – for example, solutions used across multiple product lines or business units, including custom-built systems with significant annual operating budgets.
  • Strong understanding of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Supply Planning, Production Scheduling, Inventory Management, and broader supply chain planning processes.
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and platforms such as Azure Machine Learning is highly valued.
  • Experience implementing, supporting, or optimizing planning solutions such as SAP IBP, o9 Solutions, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, APO, or similar planning platforms.
  • Proven track record in agile delivery, backlog management, requirements gathering, testing, and end-user training.
  • Experience leading multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts into business terms and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline) or equivalent experience is required. An advanced degree (MBA or MS in a related field) is highly preferred.

For over 100 years, our Weyerhaeuser team has been making a difference in the world – from the seedlings we plant, to the forests and trees we nurture, we ensure every acre is managed with diligence, patience and pride.
