At the Best Western Ponderosa Lodge, we’re fortunate to live and work in one of the most picturesque areas of Central Oregon. Our property accommodates both business and leisure travelers, and we are a destination hotel that has served many of the same customers for years. We also have staff members who have been with us for over a decade because we treat our employees with respect, dignity, and transparency. We are committed to building and maintaining a staff whose talents can be showcased and whose knowledge of Sisters, OR, and the surrounding areas can be shared with our guests.

Best Western Ponderosa Lodge is seeking motivated Breakfast Attendants to join our team. Our Breakfast Attendants are responsible for preparing and serving the daily complimentary breakfast for hotel guests, while meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares foods such as eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, waffle batter, gravy, etc.
  • Stocks coffee, juice, and milk machines or dispensers
  • Sets out and arranges food for service
  • Clears and cleans tables as they are vacated
  • Wipes up spills
  • Removes trash and takes to dumpster
  • Washes serving equipment and returns to storage
  • Returns reusable food supplies to storage with proper dates on product
  • Restocks self-service food and supplies as needed
  • Follows city, county, and/or state guidelines on food prep, storage, sanitation, and other items the inspector gives to the hotel
  • Takes inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day
  • Orders or purchases food supplies
  • Retrieves inventory to restock breakfast room for the next day
  • Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager
  • Manages and resolves all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintains customers’ privacy
  • Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
  • Punctuality, dependability, and regular attendance
  • Treats all coworkers with respect
  • Adheres to all hotel policies and procedures as outlined by hotel standards and Federal, State and Local laws, including OSHA regulations
  • Follows proper procedures in handling hazardous substances
  • Must use appropriate protective equipment as needed for job task
  • Performs “housekeeping” duties as assigned
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday; 6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Successful Candidates Must Have:

  • Eighteen years of age or older
  • General knowledge and experience in hotel facility operations
  • Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to work long hours if needed
  • Must have current Oregon Food Handlers Card
  • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to communicate with guests, staff, and the public in a professional and hospitable manner
  • Self-motivated with the ability to properly perform job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision and/or in stressful situations.
  • Ability and willingness to take direction and supervision from management, and/or other lead employees regarding job duties and task assignments
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn safety, emergency, and accident prevention policies and procedures
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work as part of a team and effectively communicate to the Housekeeping Supervisor, management, peers, and hotel guests
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems effectively and efficiently
