Job Title: Sales Representative - Construction Estimating & New Business Development

Location: Seattle Metro Area
Reports to: Director of Sales

We are a growing construction services company specializing in residential and commercial projects. We deliver high-quality workmanship, competitive pricing, and exceptional customer service. We're seeking a driven Sales Representative to generate new leads, win bids, and grow revenue through proactive outreach and strong estimating skills.

Role Summary
The Sales Representative is responsible for cold calling, prospecting, qualifying leads, and converting opportunities into closed contracts. This role requires the ability to read and interpret residential and commercial construction plan sets and produce accurate, competitive estimates. Success is measured by new business won, bid conversion rate, and contribution to sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect and generate new business via cold calling, email outreach, networking, and follow-ups with architects, general contractors, developers, and property owners.
  • Qualify leads and maintain a disciplined pipeline in CRM (create and update accurate records).
  • Review and interpret residential and commercial plan sets, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Prepare thorough, competitive estimates and proposals within required turnaround times.
  • Present bids and proposals to clients, negotiate terms, and close sales.
  • Collaborate with operations, project management, and estimating teams to ensure scope, pricing, and scheduling align with company capacity.
  • Track and report on sales activity, pipeline metrics, and forecasted revenue.
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions, competitor pricing, and product/service offerings.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client meetings as necessary.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years sales experience in construction, building products, or related industry with proven track record of closing deals (preferred).
  • Strong ability to cold call and generate new prospects; comfortable with high-volume outreach.
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting residential and commercial construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Estimating experience and ability to create accurate, competitive bid proposals. Familiarity with takeoff tools preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional phone presence.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and results-driven with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites and client meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal estimating or construction-related training
  • Existing relationships with local contractors, developers, or architects.
  • Experience with construction takeoff software

Compensation & Benefits

  • $55,000.00/annually + 5% commission paid quarterly
