Job Summary
The Winter Recreation Attendant provides professional, personalized, and guest-focused service to create memorable experiences for all guests. As a member of the Recreation & Leisure team, this role supports the delivery of exceptional One&Only service standards by assisting guests with winter recreation activities and equipment rentals throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional guest service by assisting with ski and snowboard equipment fittings and gear transportation
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure timely follow-up on guest questions, requests, and concerns
  • Maintain an accurate guest log with important guest information, communicating relevant details to management and applicable departments
  • Guide winter recreation activities as needed, including fat biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing
  • Ensure all recreation equipment is kept in perfect working condition, reporting any deficiencies to management immediately
  • Assist with outdoor gondola operations, including welcoming guests, storing guest equipment, and providing directions
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized outdoor facility by removing snow, debris, and misplaced equipment to support smooth guest movement
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Recreation or other members of management

Skills, Experience, & Education Requirements
  • Previous experience in a ski shop, recreation department, and/or hotel setting is an advantage
  • Previous skiing or snowboarding experience is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience within a mountain resort setting with operational knowledge (especially of Big Sky) is a plus
  • Maintain a positive attitude with a commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative, supportive team
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
  • Willingness to learn new skills

Physical Requirements
The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling
  • Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
