The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.Qualifications:
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
For the CP-14 level you must have one year (52 weeks) of specializedexperience equivalent to at least the CP-13/GS-15. Specialized experienceis defined as experience which includes 1) determining the types of programsand services to be offered by an organizational element that provides wellnessand employee assistance programs, and the timing of service delivery; 2)evaluating issues to identify program weaknesses, gaps, and areas in need ofimprovement; 3) creating new policies and making changes to existing policiesand procedures to improve programs; 4) determining the need for research,studies and special projects designed to improve operations and expand servicesacross an entire organization, and 5) experience supervising EAPcounselors or other mental health professionals as well as training and/orprofessional experience in the area of physical health, wellness and/ormind-body medicine.
Masters or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health field (including clinicalpsychology, social work, professional counseling or marriage and familytherapy), Health Psychology or Public Health. Independent clinical licensure inone of the above disciplines (M.D./D.O., Ph.D/PsyD, LCSW-C, LPC/LCPC, and/orLMFT) required. Licensure must be active and unrestricted and may be held inany of the 50 states, the District of Columbia or U.S. territories. CertifiedEmployee Assistance Professional (CEAP) credential or eligibility preferred.
