Now Hiring: Girls Inc. Assistant Program Coordinator
Pay Range: $21 - 24 Per Hour
Status: Full-Time
Location: YWCA Minneapolis Midtown
What You'll Do:
As the Girls Inc. Assistant Coordinator, you'll deliver high-quality youth programming in a safe, respectful and highly engaging environment. Girls Inc. Includes two programs: Eureka! A five-year STEM, college and carer readiness, leadership development and wellness program and OST, a program providing girls with a welcoming place to learn, connect and grow after school.
  • Support in the development and delivery of high-quality youth programming grounded in best practices in youth development
  • Maintain clear and consistent line of communication with Girls Inc. Coordinator
  • Co-facilitate educational activities including STEM, leadership development, career exploration, financial literacy, and healthy decision-making
  • Support communication with participants, families, schools and partners, appropriately representing YWCA Minneapolis
  • Assist with data collection, attendance tracking and program evaluation activities
  • Assist in the onboarding, training and scheduling of part-time program staff and volunteers
  • Support a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants
  • Additional duties as assigned

Schedule
Monday - Friday 9-6PM* with one Saturday per month required.
*Daily hours will be within this timeframe with adjustments based on school-site schedules
Who You Are:
You are a passionate youth advocate and experienced program leader who thrives in diverse school and community settings. You understand the power of afterschool programs to support positive youth development and are committed to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practice.
You bring strong leadership skills, the ability to motivate and guide teams, and a collaborative mindset that strengthens partnerships and engagement with youth, families, and community stakeholders.

  • Youth Development: Understanding of best practices with elementary - high school aged youth programming and positive youth development
  • Leadership: Experience coaching and supporting diverse part-time staff
  • Collaboration: Skilled in building relationships with schools, families, and community partners
  • Cultural Responsiveness: Ability to engage effectively with youth and families from varied racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds
  • Program Design & Evaluation: Proficient in planning, implementing, and assessing youth programs for continuous improvement
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, with confidence in presenting to groups and stakeholders
  • Time Management: Organized and adaptable with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Requirements
Qualifications
Required:
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in education, youth development, social services, or a related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with youth in a structured group setting (preferably girls in diverse or urban communities)
  • Strong interest in STEM, youth leadership, and gender equity
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and culture
  • CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Commitment to the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering women
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related or youth development field
  • Experience supporting STEM-based or experiential learning programs
  • Familiarity with program evaluation or data tracking
  • Experience working in out-of-school time or summer youth programs
