The Wellness Director in Training (WDIT) is a leadership development role designed for licensed nurses interested in advancing into a Wellness Director position within senior living. Working alongside experienced clinical leaders, the WDIT gains hands-on experience in clinical operations, team leadership, regulatory compliance, resident care management, and wellness program oversight. This role offers a structured pathway to develop the skills needed to lead a wellness team while ensuring exceptional, resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a structured leadership development program focused on clinical operations, compliance, and team management.
  • Support and learn daily Wellness Department operations, including staffing, scheduling, and care coordination.
  • Assist with resident assessments, care planning, medication management, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Gain knowledge of state and federal regulations and support survey readiness and documentation compliance.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality resident care.
  • Participate in staff training, coaching, and team development activities.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs and services.
  • Support operational processes, including staffing plans, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in leadership, geriatric care, and clinical best practices.
Qualifications
  • Current RN, LPN, or LVN license required.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in senior living, long-term care, or a related healthcare setting.
