Job Summary:
The Assistant Wellness Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fitness center, spa treatment rooms, salon, and retail areas. This role works closely with property leadership to ensure operational excellence, maintain Forbes Five-Star standards, and drive revenue through strategic programming, marketing, and exceptional guest service. In addition to management duties, the Assistant Wellness Manager will also provide guest services in their licensed modality (massage therapy, esthetics, cosmetology, or nails). Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management & Standards
  • Ensure the Arch Amenities Group and Spa Experience by maintaining brand, service, and Forbes Five-Star standards.
  • Oversee the integration of spa, salon, and fitness facilities into the property's overall operations.
  • Maintain accurate and current facility operating procedures, policies, and standards.
  • Liaise with the property's General Manager and Director of Engineering to ensure the facility is safe, secure, and well-maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing, health, and safety regulations.

Financial & Administrative Oversight
  • Assist in establishing and meeting annual budgets, revenue goals, and financial targets.
  • Manage payroll, scheduling, and staffing within budgetary guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, including monthly variance reports, KPIs, client summaries, and retail sales reports.
  • Implement and manage inventory control systems for products, equipment, and supplies.

Guest Experience & Service Quality
  • Personally deliver spa treatments in accordance with current certifications and licensure.
  • Provide expert product and service recommendations to guests.
  • Ensure all staff maintain exceptional guest service standards and respond promptly to guest feedback.
  • Maintain treatment areas and workstations to meet cleanliness and safety protocols.

Staff Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain a team of service providers and wellness professionals.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions on service, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Establish and track service and retail sales goals for staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Maintain appropriate supervisory coverage through a Manager on Duty (MOD) program.

Marketing & Programming
  • Create and implement marketing initiatives, promotions, and seasonal programming for wellness, fitness, and spa services.
  • Represent Arch Amenities Group and the property at internal and external events.
  • Monitor competitive market trends and adjust offerings accordingly.

Facilities & Maintenance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance procedures and preventative schedules for equipment and facilities.
  • Manage laundry operations and ensure supplies are stocked.
  • Coordinate with engineering for repairs and facility upkeep.

Other Responsibilities
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and professional training sessions.
  • Complete incident and accident reports as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Corporate Operations Director or Spa Director.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of successful spa, fitness, or wellness management experience in a luxury environment.
  • Current Florida license in massage therapy, esthetics, cosmetology, or nails (multiple modalities preferred).
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish highly preferred.
  • Experience in retail operations, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relationships.
  • Creative and sales-oriented, with marketing and promotional experience.
  • Proficient in spa management software (Spa Biz, Spa Soft, Visual One) and Microsoft Office.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
