Job description

Shop Manager – Custom Metal Fabrication
Location: Tulsa, OK | Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM–4:15 PM

Join an  industry leader in architectural and ornamental metal fabrication as the Shop Manager of our fully climate-controlled fabrication facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has successfully managed the day-to-day operations of a custom metal fabrication shop and understands how to lead skilled trades while driving safety, quality, and productivity.

This is not a project management position. We're looking for an experienced shop leader who has supervised welders, fabricators, machinists, and other skilled trades, assigned daily work, managed production schedules, held employees accountable, and maintained an organized, high-performing fabrication environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily shop operations and production workflow
  • Assigning work and coordinating fabrication schedules
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing shop employees
  • Maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards
  • Overseeing shop tools, equipment, and inventory
  • Communicating production priorities with management
  • Maintaining accurate production and administrative records

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing a custom metal fabrication, architectural metal, ornamental metal, or structural steel fabrication shop
  • Strong knowledge of MIG/TIG welding, blueprint reading, machining operations, and metal fabrication processes
  • Experience with metal finishing processes such as painting, blasting, sanding, graining, or powder coating
  • Proven ability to lead teams, solve problems, and maintain accountability in a fast-paced fabrication environment
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check
