POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and financial

performance of fabrication projects within the FMH Division. This role manages projects from material

procurement through fabrication, machining, coating/galvanizing, quality assurance, and final delivery

ensuring each project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full accordance with

applicable codes and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the full project lifecycle for assigned structural steel, pressure vessel, and heavy

fabrication projects from award through delivery.

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, and production

sequencing.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, engineering, detailing, shop personnel,

and vendors.

• Estimate all Fabrication RFQ’s.

• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work; identify and communicate risks,

conflicts, and change-order opportunities.

• Coordinate material procurement and ensure timely availability of plate, structural, and

consumable materials per the production schedule.

• Track project costs against estimates and actively manage gross-margin performance and cost-to-complete

projections.

• Oversee compliance with ASME BPVC, AWS D1.1, and other applicable codes, standards, and

customer quality requirements.

• Coordinate with QA/QC and CWI personnel to ensure inspection, NDE, and documentation

(MTRs, weld maps, traveler packages) requirements are met.

• Process and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and progress billings promptly.

• Coordinate galvanizing, machining, finishing, logistics, and final shipment of completed

weldments and assemblies.

• Enforce all company safety policies and actively promote a strong Health, Safety &

Environmental (HSE) culture on the shop floor.

• Provide regular, accurate project status reporting to division leadership and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field — or an

equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 5+ years of project management experience in industrial/heavy fabrication, structural steel, or

pressure-vessel manufacturing.

• Working knowledge of ASME BPVC, AWS D1.1, and common fabrication and welding

processes.

• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weldments, and bills of material.

• Strong command of project budgeting, scheduling, and cost control.

• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and ERP / project-management software.

Preferred

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

• AWS CWI certification or working familiarity with weld inspection.

• Direct experience with galvanizing and CNC machining operations.

• Experience managing projects for aerospace, mining, or energy-sector clients.

• Familiarity with estimating and proposal development.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Strong leadership, organization, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers, vendors, and shop personnel.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities under deadline pressure.

• Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed in both office and active fabrication-shop environments.

• Regular exposure to noise, dust, welding operations, and varying temperatures on the shop floor.

• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs; frequent walking, standing, and shop-floor visits.

• Occasional travel to customer sites and vendor facilities.
